Following a series of leaks, LEGO and Nintendo have officially revealed the Donkey Kong Arcade set, bringing the classic 1981 arcade cabinet experience to the brick-building format. Pre-orders are live now directly on LEGO's website, with the official launch scheduled for August 1, 2026.

Quick Facts

  • Set Name: Donkey Kong Arcade (72051)
  • Release Date: August 1, 2026
  • Price: $199.99 (regional equivalents apply)
  • Piece Count: 1,371 pieces
  • Included Figures: Jumpman, Donkey Kong, and Lady

Features and Mechanical Design

Designed for adult builders, the 1,371-piece model serves as a retro display piece for entertainment rooms and home offices. The build replicates the look of the original arcade cabinet and includes functional mechanics that mirror the gameplay of the classic title.

Builders can pull a lever to release barrels in a continuous loop, simulating Donkey Kong throwing obstacles down the structure. By moving Jumpman via an integrated joystick and pressing a button, users can make the character leap over the oncoming barrels. The model also incorporates classic scaffold, ladder, and hammer details, alongside digital building support via the LEGO Builder app for 3D rotation and progress tracking.

Promotion and Availability

To promote the release, Nintendo and LEGO enlisted legendary Donkey Kong arcade player Steve Wiebe to feature in a new commercial showcasing the set. Pre-orders are currently open on LEGO's official online store ahead of the August 2026 physical rollout.
