Developer Elementa has officially rebranded its upcoming mobile title, previously known as V Project, to StarToU. The game continues its development as an immersive, empathy-driven idol simulation, with the studio confirming that the name change reflects an expansion in the game's scope.

Gameplay and Systems

StarToU centers on a "memory recreation technology" called TOUCH, which players use to engage with the game's fan ecosystem. This system integrates into several core features:

  • Star Journey: A personal fan archive that tracks storylines, music, cards, and event records.
  • Echo System: A narrative mode allowing players to relive specific character memories.
  • TOKI: An in-game social network where players can view idol posts, listen to voice chats, and watch livestreams.

The game's rhythm-based segments, titled Starlit Stage, utilize "TOUCH Lite" technology. Players do not control choreography directly; instead, they interact with performances by hitting rhythm notes in real time to provide fan support. Players can also act as directors, customizing outfits and card-based "Moments" to tailor the aesthetic of each performance.

The rebrand introduces MacGuffin, the game's flagship boy group from the Rhythm Rebellion Label. The quartet features a hip-hop and street culture aesthetic and consists of four members: Tay, Lim, Noki, and Yoora. They join the previously revealed trio of trainees—LEE, Near, and OCT—in what the developer describes as a long-term, coming-of-age ensemble story.
