Old School RuneScape has expanded its map with the arrival of Wyrmscraig, a new, dangerous island now available to all players. The update is notable for its origin: the island was designed by community member ScreteMonge (also known as Gnome) as the winning entry in a Player-Designed Island Competition held earlier this year.

Quick Facts

  • New Location: Wyrmscraig, an island populated by aggressive wildlife and the village of Auchrie.
  • New Quest: Players can undertake the 'Fallen From Grace' quest.
  • New Boss: Defeating the Mad Angel within the quest unlocks them as a repeatable boss encounter.
  • New Rewards: Success against the Mad Angel yields the Hallowfell weapon.
  • New Slayer Master: Mortimer is available to players with 100 Combat and 70 Slayer who have completed the island's main quest.

Exploring Wyrmscraig and Auchrie

Players arriving on the shores of Wyrmscraig will find an environment described as hostile, with local wildlife that is explicitly aggressive toward intruders. Despite the danger, the island is home to a settlement called Auchrie. The village is inhabited by NPCs characterized as hardy and stubborn, serving as the hub for new activities.

Beyond the primary questline, the island offers secondary activities for those looking to expand their gameplay. Players can now participate in Golem Crafting, which involves creating giant protectors for the village, or engage in goat hunting as a new specialized activity.

Slayer Progression

For high-level players, the update introduces a new Slayer Master named Mortimer. Accessing his services requires completion of the 'Fallen From Grace' quest and meeting specific stat thresholds: 100 Combat and 70 Slayer. Once these requirements are met, Mortimer offers a choice between two distinct tasks, providing an additional layer of progression for experienced adventurers.

Old School RuneScape is available to download for free on iOS and Android via the App Store and Google Play, with optional in-app purchases available.
