Farlight's mobile title Clash of Critters pits your animal companions, known as Tatari, against waves of zombies called Zobos across grid-based stages. Because combat requires constant repositioning and stages feature changing enemy elements, relying on a single 'one-size-fits-all' team will lead to defeat.

Understanding Elemental Affinities and Counters

Combat effectiveness relies heavily on matching your Tatari's element against the Zobo's attribute. The elemental cycle operates as follows: Water > Fire > Leaf > Earth > Lightning > Water.

  • Counter DMG (200%): Indicated by a thumbs-up icon when your Tatari counters the target's element (for example, dropping a Leaf element Tatari against an Earth Zobo).
  • Countered DMG (50%): Indicated by a thumbs-down icon when you deploy a disadvantageous element.

Best Tatari Choices by Role

To survive tougher stages, your squad should always include a balanced selection of damage dealers, front-line protection, healing, support, and crowd control. Mix and match these options based on the summons you pull from the gachapon capsules:

DPS Roles

  • Frugling (Leaf): AoE damage via Puffruit Pop, which launches an exploding prickly fruit.
  • Zapooch (Lightning): AoE damage via Bolt Storm, unleashing chained lightning strikes.
  • Goonbug (Leaf): AoE damage via Bugrush, which also grants Invincibility during dashes.
  • Cactobud (Leaf): Single-target DPS using Needle Rain to apply stacks of Sting.
  • Fluffle (Lightning): Single-target DPS using Static Fluff to summon lightning clouds.

Tank Roles

  • Manteeny (Leaf): Deals continuous AoE damage via Double Slash.
  • Punchimp (Earth): Deals small AoE damage via Clone Caper with a chance to summon a clone.
  • Blowfin (Fire): Counterattacks close-range attackers with Huff and Puff, and meditates to recover HP when not counterattacking.

Healer Roles

  • Cluckeroo (Leaf): Fires two seeds via Nutri-Shot—one damages enemies while the other recovers HP.
  • Glowfly (Lightning): Grants a front row ally a Static Shield that deals AoE damage when it expires.
  • Buddi (Leaf): Heals allies and grants an attack boost via sunlight using Bright Hug.

Support and Crowd Control

  • Cheerling (Lightning): Heals nearby allies, deals AoE damage, and grants attack and defense boosts with Bunny Dance.
  • Dewgrub (Water): Slows and occasionally puts enemies to sleep using Drowsy Shot.
  • Frostnip (Water): Fires ice blocks to inflict Slow.
  • Voltfawn (Lightning): Pierces enemies with a lightning lance to inflict Paralysis.
  • Hootlet (Leaf): Creates an AoE terrain that damages enemies and applies stackable Slowdown.
