Climbing the Mountain with Thȫmi

Players step into the shoes of Thȫmi, a bird-like character attempting to reach the summit of a massive mountain to fulfill a final promise to his grandfather: scattering his ashes from the peak. Progression is structured around nodes encountered along the way, each presenting a different obstacle that must be solved by dragging and dropping items from the player's backpack.

The backpack serves as the central mechanic of the experience. The inventory system features more than 140 unique items of varying sizes and effects. Space is strictly limited, forcing players to carefully weigh which items—such as food to stay alive or equipment to handle obstacles—deserve precious slots and what must be left behind.

Roguelite Progression and Environments

Alongside its inventory mechanics, the game incorporates deckbuilder ideas and roguelite progression systems. Successful or failed expeditions unlock new items, tools, and companions via the Explorer's Tree. Players can also upgrade a base camp between runs to prepare for subsequent climbs.

As Thȫmi ascends further, the landscape shifts across distinct environments, moving through lush jungles, green forests, frozen mountain passes, icy peaks, and volcanic regions, alongside hidden runic areas shrouded in fog.

Barda: Backpack Roguelike is up for grabs on the Google Play Store for $4.99.
