Account Security Requirements

Securing your Warframe account is essential for both account integrity and accessing the in-game trading system. For PC users, TennoGuard Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of account security. Upon activation, the system generates a code sent to your registered email address, which must be entered during the login process on new devices. This code changes every few minutes and is single-use.

For console accounts, the FAQ advises enabling the platform’s own 2FA option on PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo Switch. The PC TennoGuard setup described here is separate from those console security settings. It is recommended to change your account password regularly as a standard security practice.

Trading Safety and Rules

The Trading FAQ lists Mastery Rank 2 as a trading requirement. For PC accounts, the TennoGuard FAQ also requires TennoGuard 2FA for trading. All trades must occur within the official in-game Trading UI, such as at a Clan Dojo or Maroo's Bazaar. Trading items for real-world currency or non-game items is a violation of the Terms of Use and can result in account bans.

Key Trading Protections

  • Verify Offers: Always double-check the items and Platinum amounts in the trade window before confirming. The UI will notify you instantly if the other player changes their offer.
  • Platinum Scams: There is no such thing as a "Platinum Glitch." Any player claiming they can double your Platinum is attempting to scam you.
  • Authorized Retailers: Only purchase Platinum through official channels listed at warframe.com/buyplatinum. Platinum obtained from unauthorized third-party sites is considered fraudulent and will be removed from your account.
  • Account Ownership: The sale, purchase, or transfer of Warframe accounts is prohibited. Accounts found to have shared login information are not considered secure and may be suspended.
