Quick Facts

  • Release Date: August 13, 2026
  • Platforms: Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam)
  • Featured Skater: Sterre Meijer (a.k.a. Surfsterre)

Gameplay and Style

Skatesterre draws inspiration from the golden era of skateboarding titles from the early 2000s. The game emphasizes a balance of accessibility and depth, featuring tight controls and a fluid movement system designed for high-speed runs. Players are encouraged to link together tricks such as kickflips, grinds, and manuals to build massive score multipliers.

The game features a variety of environments—including streets, parks, and urban playgrounds—filled with ramps, rails, and hidden lines. Progression is tied to completing specific mission-based objectives across these levels, which in turn unlocks new fashion items and gear to customize the appearance of the player character, real-life Dutch skateboarder Sterre Meijer.

Audio and Atmosphere

In line with its classic arcade influences, the game’s soundtrack focuses on high-energy tracks. The developers have confirmed a curated list of underground skate punk and skate rock intended to match the fast-paced nature of the gameplay. The focus throughout the experience remains on creating "all killer, no filler" runs where every trick counts toward a high score.
