Reaching the endgame in Diablo 4 Season 14 doesn't have to be a grind. By leveraging specific War Plan perks and hunting Hellwyrms, you can hit level 70 in about four hours. This guide breaks down the process used by community experts Wudijo and P4wnyhof to speed-run the early levels.

First, ensure you have completed the Lord of Hatred campaign so you can skip it on your new character. Once you are in, follow these steps to maximize your efficiency.

Optimizing War Plans for Early Leveling

Your immediate goal is to reach level two in the Helltide skill tree. Prioritize War Plan activities, focusing specifically on Helltides and, if necessary, Kurast Undercity tasks to unlock the following skills:

  • Hellmouth (Helltide - level one)
  • Writhe and Rot (Helltide - level two)
  • Jade Epiphany (Undercity - level one)

To maximize your points, use this difficulty-swapping trick:

  1. On "Normal" difficulty, collect the 75 Aberrant Cinders required for your Helltide activities, but do not open any chests yet.
  2. Return to Temis and switch the difficulty to "Penitent."
  3. Head back to the Helltide area and open the required chests. Be careful: if you die, you lose half your Cinders.
  4. Speak to Tyrael to receive 43 War Plan points for each completed activity.

Repeat this until you unlock the "Writhe and Rot" perk. For Undercity activities, you can stay on "Normal" difficulty; just aim for four Attunement levels to collect the experience orbs.

Farming Hellwyrms for Maximum XP

Once you have unlocked the necessary perks, stop doing War Plans and focus exclusively on Helltides and Undercity runs. The most efficient way to level up is hunting Hellwyrms.

Before you start, set your difficulty to "Hard" to ensure you can clear enemies safely. Use the Helltides Event Timer to track where Helltides are active and locate the fixed spawn points for Hellwyrms. Note that these creatures will only begin to spawn once you have filled about two-thirds of your Helltide bar.

Travel between the green circles marked on the event timer map. When a Hellwyrm appears, kill the enemies it spawns, collect the experience orbs they drop, and move to the next location. This loop is the fastest way to hit level 70 and begin farming Paragon points.
