Read counters before committing the next action
Cards on the battlefield attack automatically when their counters reach zero. Each card can have a different counter, and items may speed up or delay your own or the enemy counters. Check which attacks are coming before leaving an injured companion exposed. The publisher’s tips also identify a separate countdown for the next enemy wave. [1]
Steps
- Hover over the relevant cards to read their details. Right-click for the full overview, especially when an enemy’s modifiers or boss statistics affect the next attack. [1]
Check which card is actually in the firing line
Rows determine the ordinary opposing target: without a modifier such as Barrage, a standard card attacks the front card in the opposite row. Moving your cards can therefore change which enemy they target and which companion occupies an exposed position. Read the modifiers before assuming that a front-card rule describes every attack. [1]
Steps
- Reposition cards between rows when the ordinary target arrangement is unfavorable. Recheck any special attack modifier before relying on that move. [1]
Withdraw the companion to the healing pouch
The developer recommends withdrawing a low-health card from the battlefield to heal it. The relevant destination is the pouch on the right beside the bell. This is different from merely changing the card’s place in a row: the documented action takes it off the battlefield for healing. [1]
Steps
- Drag the vulnerable companion’s card to the right-hand pouch next to the bell to withdraw it for healing. [1]
Check the redraw bell before running out of options
The redraw bell does not require an empty hand. Once its countdown finishes, you can reshuffle for more options. When a companion needs protection, inspect that availability alongside the cards already in hand. The backpack icon in the bottom-left of the battle screen opens the overview of your full deck. [1]
Steps
- Use the bell when it is ready if you need another hand; inspect the backpack’s deck overview when checking what the deck contains. [1]
Make permanent charm decisions outside the immediate crisis
A charm saved for later can be equipped through Deck Overview, but an attached charm cannot be removed. Keep that permanence separate from temporary battlefield positioning and recall decisions. The official tips do not give a universal recall-healing amount or promise that the same positioning works against every modifier, so this guide does not add either claim. [1]
