Earn an invitation through the troop’s Suspicion
The developer describes The Lair as accessible from the beginning of an adventure once the troop has accumulated enough Suspicion to earn an invitation. A shady contact points toward the closest entrance. The preview does not publish a numeric Suspicion threshold, so do not assume a particular percentage or wanted level from this guide. Community Update 7’s released notes confirm The Lair is now part of the game. [1]
The shipped update lists The Lair as a new point of interest for criminal activities, separating it from the earlier preview’s future-tense announcement. [2]
Steps
- Once the troop has earned an invitation, use the nearby shady contact to locate the closest entrance. [1]
Enter through the Lair’s access keeper
The Gatekeeper controls entry and exit from the hidden refuge. That is the access role to distinguish from the four service residents inside. The developer describes The Lair as an underground location for criminal troops, so use the invitation and contact route rather than searching for a normal merchant who sells an unlock item. [1]
Steps
- Use the Gatekeeper’s access to enter or leave The Lair after locating its entrance. [1]
Find the Suspicion Specialist to lower recognition
The Suspicion Specialist is the resident who lowers the troop’s Suspicion. This service is separate from selling stolen stock or taking a new contract. The preview does not give a price, a precise reduction amount or a cooldown. Check the actual offer when using the resident instead of treating the service as an unconditional reset of every criminal consequence. [1]
Steps
- Choose the Suspicion Specialist when the immediate goal is reducing the troop’s Suspicion. [1]
Use the Black-Market Merchant for stolen items
The Black-Market Merchant buys stolen goods and offers specialized weapons and armour. That combination makes the resident both a selling destination and an equipment source, but the developer gives no universal resale multiplier or guarantee that every desired weapon is stocked. Keep the item transaction distinct from the Suspicion Specialist’s separate service. [1]
Steps
- Take stolen goods to the Black-Market Merchant when you want to sell them, or inspect that merchant’s specialized equipment. [1]
Choose criminal work or rest before leaving
The Contract Broker provides a dedicated quest board with criminal tasks, including Catch and Deliver, Attack and Assassinate. The Tavern Keeper supplies a place to rest and prepare. Use the broker for work and the tavern for the rest stop; they are separate functions within the same location. This guide does not invent contract rewards or guarantee an identical board in every campaign. [1]
The Tavern Keeper is the resident associated with recovering and preparing before returning to the road. [1]
Steps
- Inspect the Contract Broker’s board for criminal work, then use the Tavern Keeper when you need to rest before heading out. [1]
