Choose the Ogryn’s Krourk Mk IIa Cruncher
The Depths of the Damned release adds the Krourk Mk IIa Cruncher for Ogryns. Fatshark describes it as a large industrial sledgehammer with slow swings, strong stagger, above-average cleave and long reach. Those qualities explain the division between its wide heavy attacks and its single-target Special attacks. This guide concerns that weapon, not every item sharing a hammer-like appearance. [1]
Hold a Heavy or Special windup to build strength
Holding a Heavy or Special windup longer accumulates up to four stacks of ten percent Melee Strength for the following attack. The stacking applies to the next attack described by that windup. Account for the extra time before a strike instead of reading a slow release as an unresponsive input. The release note gives this mechanical benefit without promising that every situation permits a full charge. [1]
Steps
- Hold the Heavy or Special windup longer when you intend to build the next attack’s Melee Strength stacks. [1]
Distinguish tapping Special from holding it
Pressing Special raises the hammer above the Ogryn’s head. Releasing the input immediately produces Light 1 or Light 4, depending on the current chain; holding it produces a Heavy Special Strikedown. This distinction matters when the move you see does not match the one you expected: an immediate release and a held input are intentionally different attacks. [1]
Steps
- Hold Special for the Heavy Special Strikedown. Release immediately only when you intend the corresponding Light 1 or Light 4 branch. [1]
Use the horizontal Heavy chain for crowds
Heavy 1 and Heavy 2 are horizontal Relentless swings with strong cleave and impact on secondary targets. Fatshark’s suggested horde combo alternates H1 and H2 repeatedly. The same list offers Heavy 1 into Light 2, Light 3 and Heavy 2 as another route. Read H as Heavy and L as Light in those chain descriptions. [1]
The second published horde route inserts the second and third Light attacks before returning to Heavy 2. [1]
Steps
- For the basic published horde chain, alternate Heavy 1 and Heavy 2 rather than repeatedly resetting into an unrelated opening attack. [1]
Use the Special chain for Strikedown attacks
The developer’s suggested single-target chain alternates Special 1 and Special 2. Both are very slow vertical Strikedown attacks with high damage and impact; Special 2 is also accessible after a Push. Use the target and timing to choose between that sequence and the wider horde chain. The note does not establish a universal highest-damage build, kill breakpoint or safe opening against every enemy. [1]
Special 2 has a documented route after a Push, as well as its place in the Special sequence. [1]
Steps
- Use Special 1 into Special 2 for the published single-target sequence, allowing for their slow windups. [1]
