Select the progress you intend to keep
Account Linking creates one Cross Platform Save account around a Primary Account. The selected progression and purchases are then used across the linked platforms. [1]
Steps
- Before linking, identify the Warframe account whose progress and inventory you want to keep as Primary. [1]
Limits & applicability
- The decision is permanent. Account Merging ended on January 17, 2025, but Account Linking remains available. [1]
Connect one account at a time
A PC Warframe account is required for the setup, even when you intend to play only on another device. You do not have to download or play the PC version to use the resulting account. [1]
Steps
- Have or create a PC Warframe account, then use Account Management to link one desired platform account to it. [1]
- Link any additional platforms to that Cross Platform Save account one at a time. Only one account per platform can be linked. [1]
- Check for the successful-link popup and confirm Cross Platform Save status in Account Management. [1]
Understand what Primary means before confirming
The Primary Account contributes progression such as quests, Syndicate ranks, Focus, Intrinsics and Helminth unlocks. Linking is not the former account-merging service: the other linked account’s progression and inventory are no longer separately accessible after the permanent link. Select the intended progress before confirming rather than expecting to switch back to an overwritten secondary inventory later. [1]

- Merging was retired on January 17, 2025. Linking remains available, but its Primary Account rules should be followed instead of an older tutorial promising combined inventories. [1]
Review purchases that differ across platforms
The official guide distinguishes Primary Account items from preserved secondary premium purchases. Its secondary examples include PC TennoGen bought with real money, certain Prime Access and Heirloom purchases, and qualifying bundles. Their exclusions include currencies and boosters where specified; do not assume every secondary balance becomes part of the Primary Account. [1]
Limits & applicability
- PC TennoGen purchases made through Steam are available on PC. Non-PC purchases are available on licensed non-PC platforms under the guide’s rules, so an item’s platform availability can differ from the shared progression. [1]
Check the additional requirements for trading
Cross Platform Save does not remove every trading requirement. The current guide requires TennoGuard 2FA for PC and Cross Platform Save players and requires Cross Platform Play to be enabled for cross-platform trading. Personal Platinum cannot be used for trading or gifting, and Nintendo Switch Platinum has a cross-platform restriction. [1]

Limits & applicability
- Platinum trading between Nintendo Switch and other platforms is unavailable under the documented policy. A successful account link does not override that restriction. [1]
