How to Unlock VALORANT Agents With Kingdom Credits and Recruitment Events

Choose the correct unlock route, build credits and event XP, and understand the new-Agent and currency-cap restrictions.

Check whether the Agent is still in recruitment

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

VALORANT separates new-Agent recruitment from the store. A Recruitment Event automatically begins when a new Agent releases and stays active for 28 days. During that window, the free unlock route is the event’s XP progression; a normal Kingdom Credits purchase is not yet available for that new Agent. [1] [2]

Steps

  1. Check whether the Agent’s Recruitment Event is active. After it ends, use the Agent Store to unlock the Agent with KC or an available Agent Unlock Token. [1]

Limits & applicability

  • During the first 28 days, the listed access routes are VP, the Recruitment Event or a linked active Xbox Game Pass subscription. An unavailable KC button during that period is consistent with the published restriction. [2]

Earn credits through matches and Daily Rewards

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

KC are earned through gameplay. Daily Rewards provide 150 KC for each checkpoint, with four checkpoints allowing up to 600 KC from the daily track. Match earnings are separate: the support table awards credits by completed round or match depending on the game mode. [2]

Steps

  1. Play matches and complete Daily Rewards checkpoints to build the balance. Choose a mode that advances checkpoints when working on that daily track. [2]

Limits & applicability

  • FFA Deathmatch can provide match credits while granting no checkpoint progress. A disruptive-behavior penalty also removes KC earnings for that match. These are separate reasons why a particular reward counter may not advance. [2]

Use Daily and Weekly XP for the recruitment route

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

Daily and Weekly Mission XP contributes to an active Recruitment Event alongside Battle Pass and Event Pass progress. Earning the Agent this way does not also unlock its gear track. The Agent and its gear are separate purchases in the progression system. [1]

Steps

  1. Complete Daily and Weekly Missions during the Recruitment Event to contribute their XP toward the Agent unlock. [1]

Limits & applicability

  • Agent Gear can only be bought for an owned or unlocked Agent. Do not spend toward a gear tier expecting it to replace the Agent unlock. [2]

Allow room below the cap and review the final choice

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

KC do not expire, but the balance is capped at 10,000. Once at that limit, some credits must be spent before more can accrue. That cap is relevant when saving for an Agent: keeping a full balance does not continue to accumulate overflow credits. [2]

Limits & applicability

  • All Kingdom Credit purchases are non-refundable. Review the intended Agent or item before confirming a purchase; clearing the currency cap does not create a refund exception. [2]

Distinguish match credits from daily progress

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

The current support table awards round-based KC in Unrated, Competitive, Swiftplay and Premier, with round-won and round-played amounts stacking. Spike Rush and Team Deathmatch award 20 KC per completed match; Escalation and FFA Deathmatch award 15. Daily progress is a separate track, so a match credit award does not imply that every mode advances a daily checkpoint. [2]

Limits & applicability

  • The daily track contains four diamond checkpoints with four facets each. One progress point fills one facet; completing the checkpoint is what earns its daily reward. [2]
