Create the room you want to reuse
Room Templates preserve a room design for reuse in other hospitals. Build the layout you want first, then save that layout as a template. The feature is useful when you want to put effort into a room once and use the same arrangement again, instead of rebuilding its design from memory. [1]
Steps
- Build the room that will become the reusable layout. [1]
Open Templates while building or editing
The Templates button is available in build/edit mode. That is the documented place for saving and naming the design; it is separate from the icon used later to select an existing template. Give the saved layout a name that lets you recognize it when placing another room. [1]
Steps
Select the saved design when placing a new room
When placing a new room, use the template icon to access the saved layouts. This is the reuse step: returning to the save button alone is not the same as choosing a saved template for a newly placed room. [1]
Steps
- Start placing a new room, open the saved-template icon and choose the layout to reuse. [1]
Use the same template in another hospital
The developer describes templates as available across your other hospitals. Plan the saved design around the room you want to reuse, then select it from the new-room template control in the next hospital. This source does not describe Workshop sharing or downloading another player’s room, so those are not required steps here. [1]
Check that the Room Templates update is installed
Room Templates were introduced in Steam build 1.21.55236. If the controls described above are absent, check that the installation includes that feature update. [1]
The launch notice tells Steam users to download the update and restart Steam if it does not appear. This is the publisher’s update-discovery instruction, rather than a reason to delete a save or rebuild a hospital. [1]
