Choose the dedicated server’s custom save folder
The Forest 1.07 introduces a custom save folder for the dedicated server. Endnight documents two ways to select it: the -savefolderpath command-line parameter or the saveFolderPath config-file entry. These are server controls from the PC release notes; the source does not describe a PlayStation server-setting equivalent or promise that selecting a folder migrates existing saves. [1]
Steps
Set different frame-rate targets for occupied and idle sessions
The same dedicated-server update adds two frame-rate configuration entries. targetFpsActive defines the desired value when players are present, and targetFpsIdle defines the value when the server has no players. Choosing separate targets lets the operator distinguish those two server states. Endnight’s release note does not prescribe an optimal number for every machine. [1]
Steps
- Set targetFpsActive and targetFpsIdle in the config file to the desired frame-rate values for the occupied and empty server states. [1]
Keep the dedicated tool compatible with the client
For the 1.07 release, Endnight requires a server restart on the latest version to remain compatible. The earlier 0.59b announcement also instructs operators to update both the dedicated tool and the game build before restarting. Keep this version requirement separate from the save-folder and frame-rate settings; changing a path is not a substitute for a matching server release. [1]
