Use R plus the left mouse button for Return Block
TerraTech 1.6.4 adds Return Block, a direct way to detach a block and send it into inventory. Its documented PC input is R plus the left mouse button. The two actions happen together: this is the named inventory-return action, rather than simply a detached block lying beside the Tech. [1]
Steps
- Use R plus the left mouse button on the block you want to detach and send directly into inventory. [1]
Use the added keybind options for related management actions
The same release adds keybind options for Tech Rename, Clear Inventory and Command Window. Those are separate actions from Return Block. The release does not give default keys for them, so choose their keybind options rather than applying the R input to an unrelated action. [1]
Steps
- Use the appropriate keybind option if your next task is Tech Rename, Clear Inventory or Command Window. [1]
Find the remaining blocks through inventory search
Opening Search in Inventory or Tech loader automatically focuses the search field in 1.6.4. After returning a block, this is the documented search behavior to expect while locating inventory content. The update’s note does not define a particular search query or promise that it changes the number of blocks owned. [1]
Recognize the later multiplayer-client correction
If Return Block is followed by a non-functioning inventory in multiplayer, check the published 1.6.5 correction for clients. That note names both the client role and the R plus left-click input. It does not prescribe deleting saves or changing the host’s inventory to recover from the problem. [2]
Keep the PC instructions separate from console bindings
The source gives an R key and mouse-button input. It does not publish console equivalents for Return Block in this announcement. The same PC release also adds larger R&D Labs build limits, explicitly tied to that DLC; the return action itself is listed among general quality-of-life improvements. [1]
