TEKKEN 8: How to Rematch With a Random Stage

Use the losing player’s result-screen choice in a supported online mode and distinguish it from random side selection.

Use an online mode with the random-stage rematch option

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

Version 3.01.01 adds Rematch with Random Stage to Ranked Match, Quick Match, Group Match and Online Ghost Battle. The losing player selects it from the result screen. The feature is a rematch choice, rather than a promise that the original stage selector changes for every game mode. [1]

Steps

  1. Complete a match in a supported online mode and, as the losing player, open the result-screen rematch choice. [1]

Request the random stage and wait for acceptance

Choose Rematch with Random Stage after the loss. A new stage is randomly selected for the next match only if the rematch is accepted. The opponent’s acceptance is therefore part of the documented flow; simply highlighting the choice does not guarantee another match or a stage that you personally prefer. [1]

Steps

  1. Select Rematch with Random Stage, then play the rematch if it is accepted; the game chooses the next stage randomly. [1]

Keep random stage separate from random player side

The same update adds Random Side Selection as another setting. It uses triangle, Y or the I key on the side-selection screen to set Play Side to Random, then chooses left or right before a match. That option does not randomize a stage and is not supported in Online Ghost Battle or Ghost vs Ghost. Avoid confusing it with the losing player’s result-screen rematch choice. [1]
