Supermarket Together: How to Research Recipes and Queue Manufacturing

Unlock the department, research with products, use the Manufacturing Desk’s global queue and diagnose missing-ingredient warnings.

Acquire the department and its equipment

Manufacturing is acquired through the space-acquisition blackboard, with separate department, extra-store and extra-storage entries. The department introduces dedicated machinery and shelves rather than turning ordinary shelf stock into manufactured goods automatically. [1]

Steps

  1. Use the space-acquisition blackboard to acquire the Manufacturing department and any additional manufacturing space you need. [1]
  2. Place the research unit and manufacturing equipment from the Manufacturing Machinery options. [1]

Use products to discover recipes while the shop is open

Research works by placing products in the research unit. A product can unlock more than one recipe, so the relationship is not necessarily one ingredient for exactly one recipe. [1]

Research takes place while the supermarket is open. Research already underway can still finish after the store closes at night; a closed shop and an unstarted research job are therefore different situations. [1]

Steps

  1. Place a product in the research unit to work toward its recipe unlocks. [1]
  2. Run recipe research during the open shopping day, while allowing ongoing research to finish after closing. [1]

Use the Manufacturing Desk to select products

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

The Manufacturing Desk is available in both the manufacturing and devices tabs. It lists recipes and the number of manufacturing units, as well as the types and counts of manufactured products already in the store or storage. [2]

Steps

  1. Place and open a Manufacturing Desk to manage the selection. [2]
  2. Check the recipes and available units before ordering more products. [2]

Send products to the global queue

Desk orders go into a global queue. They are then distributed to manufacturing units as those units become available, so an order waiting behind occupied machines is not automatically missing. [2]

Steps

  1. Send the selected manufactured products to the global queue. [2]
  2. If a pending item is unwanted, click it in the relevant manufacturing unit’s queue to remove it. [2]

Respond to ingredient warnings and use the correct shelf

Employees warn when they cannot continue gathering because the ingredient is out of stock. Replenish that ingredient rather than repeatedly adding the same blocked product to the queue. [2]

The desk update also adds a freezer for manufactured products such as salads and sandwiches. Use that product category’s intended shelf instead of assuming every manufactured item shares the same display furniture. [2]

Know why there is no separate manufactured-product price

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

The manufacturing announcement says manufactured prices are derived from their ingredients rather than set independently. This is a different system from pricing ordinary retail products; an unavailable independent price field is not, by itself, a broken product. [1]
