Version 1.2.1: Switch 2 Edition adjustments and fixes
Nintendo lists version 1.2.1, released April 15, 2026, as adjustments and fixes for the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. The note does not identify individual symptoms or promise a particular frame-rate change. Treat its platform restriction as part of the fix record: the statement applies when playing on Nintendo Switch 2. [1]
A Friend Room has different limits from local play
Nintendo documents up to two players joining an online room from one console, twelve players in a room and courses played in groups of four. Local play instead supports up to four players on one console. A third or fourth local player being unable to join an online room is therefore not proof of a connection fault. [2]
Online features require the software update
If Internet features are unavailable, first check the game update requirement and Nintendo Switch Online membership. Nintendo states that the update must be applied for Internet features, and that an online membership is required. This is a documented prerequisite; it does not establish the cause of every network error. [1]
Documented steps
- On HOME, highlight the game without launching it, press + or − and check the version under its title. Choose Software Update, then Via the Internet. [1]
