Hit with an ability to grant Laurels
In Nike’s base kit, hitting an enemy with an ability grants a Laurel to Nike and allied gods within ten metres. The cap is three. To distribute the resource to allies, the hit and nearby-ally condition both matter; this passive does not describe granting Laurels globally to the whole team. [1]
Steps
- Hit an enemy with an ability while allies are within the passive’s ten-metre range to grant them Laurels. [1]
Consume a Laurel with an attack
An ally consumes a Laurel with an attack and receives Nike’s small intelligence-scaling heal. Nike’s own attack consumes one to heal herself and deal bonus physical damage that scales with strength. [1]
Use the two scaling descriptions when reading the passive: the ally-heal clause and Nike’s own attack clause have different stated effects. This guide does not assign an item build or claim that one stat is always optimal. [1]
Steps
- Attack an enemy to spend one of Nike’s base-kit Laurels for its heal and bonus damage. [1]
Use Sentinel of Zeus’s non-consumption window
During Sentinel of Zeus’s buff, Nike stops consuming Laurels while attacks still heal and deal their bonus physical damage. This is the special attack window described by the ultimate, rather than the normal one-Laurel-per-attack behavior. [1]
The base ultimate also grants a temporary shield based on maximum health. Keep this shield in mind when comparing the Aspect, which removes it. [1]
Apply the Aspect’s different resource rule
Aspect of Victorious Conquest changes Laurels to a self-only resource. At three, the next ability deals strength-scaling bonus physical damage and consumes them. The trigger is an ability at the full stack count, differing from the base passive’s attack-based consumption. [1]
With the Aspect, Sentinel of Zeus provides full Laurels instead of a shield, and ability hits do not consume them during its buff. Do not expect the base-kit shield while using this variant. [1]
Account for the Aspect’s movement and barrier changes
The Aspect makes Barrier Formation travel forward nine metres, linger for one second and knock up enemies who touch it; it no longer channels. Valiant Leap loses its knockup. Check these changes with the resource rule when choosing the variant, since the crowd-control tools move between abilities. [1]
