Complete There’s No Place Like Home

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

RuneScape’s July 2026 housing rework starts new and returning homeowners with There’s No Place Like Home. This guide covers that reworked main RuneScape housing system, rather than the separate Old School RuneScape game. [1]

The introductory quest supplies the house and starter materials while teaching room construction and furniture placement. [1]

Steps

  1. Complete There’s No Place Like Home to begin using the reworked housing system. [1]

Add a connected room or position the room shape yourself

Placing rooms costs coins. Progress in Construction unlocks larger and more interesting room shapes. [1]

The available room shapes grow with Construction progression. [1]

For a connected room, use an existing doorway’s Add Room control; it needs enough space. [1]

Alternatively, position the selected room shape, rotate it and click to commit the placement. [1]

Steps

  1. In Build Mode, select an existing doorway and choose Add Room for a connected addition. [1]
  2. For free room placement, position and rotate the selected shape, then click to commit. [1]

Access crafted or collected furniture through storage

The Furniture Storage system in Rimmington holds crafted and collected furniture. Stored pieces are then accessible in Construction’s Build Mode, serving as the house’s dedicated furniture inventory. [1]

Craftable furniture requires recipes, with more recipes coming from levelling, quests and exploration. [1]

Steps

  1. Open Build Mode and select the stored furniture piece you want to place. [1]

Place, reposition or return furniture to storage

Use mouse and keyboard controls to position the piece, then click when the placement is ready. [1]

A placed piece can be picked up and repositioned, so changing its position does not require destroying it. [1]

Remove furniture mode returns clicked pieces to storage for reuse. It is the documented way to clear a layout while keeping those pieces available. [1]

The later September update raises the maximum placed-furniture limit to 500. That supersedes the earlier September notice re-enforcing a 300-piece limit. [2]

Steps

  1. Click to commit the positioned furniture. [1]
  2. Use remove furniture mode and select a piece when you want to return it to storage. [1]

Find converted furniture from the previous house

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

For returning homeowners, converted old furniture goes into the new house’s furniture storage after the tutorial. The announcement says most furniture was ported, with a saved record of old pieces that had not yet been converted. [1]

This transfer concerns furniture converted into the new system; it is not a statement that every former room or item is reproduced unchanged. [1]

Use the revised portal access and conditional free teleport

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

After both the tutorial quest and level 50 Construction, Teleport to House becomes free to cast. The two conditions are separate requirements. [1]

House portals across the world can access the home when their requirements are met. [1]

The house exit portal also offers Exit to another portal. Use the portal table in the release guide to check Construction, membership, quest and area-access requirements for a desired destination. [1]

Steps

  1. Use Exit to another portal from the house exit portal when travelling through another unlocked house-portal destination. [1]
