1.7 unstable may not run on older PCs

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

The developer warns that 1.7 may not run on a PC more than ten years old and asks affected players to report it through the official development Discord. No universal hardware workaround is supplied. The announcement keeps the main branch on 1.6 while 1.7 is tested. [1]

Documented workaround

Save compatibility when trying the engine update

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

For this 1.7 test, Ludeon explicitly documents saves working in both directions: 1.6 saves load in 1.7 and 1.7 saves work when returning to 1.6. This is the compatibility statement for this update, rather than a guarantee for every mod or future version. [1]

Yellow mod warnings after switching to 1.7 unstable

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

Ludeon’s October 12 announcement says some mods appear yellow as “potentially unsupported” because the version number changed. It says the vast majority work unchanged, while asking mod authors to test and publish a 1.7-compatible version. A yellow warning alone therefore does not establish a broken mod; actual behavior still needs checking. [1]
