Predecessor: How to Play Crucible and Use Its Map Objectives

Learn Crucible’s Core win condition, changed jungle objectives, Raptor stacks, healing zones and movement tools from the mode’s release breakdown.

PC

Build the match around destroying the Core

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

Crucible puts two teams of three on a single lane map with a jungle area. Its win condition is destroying the enemy Core. Use that objective to judge whether a detour into the jungle helps the team finish the match; taking a jungle buff alone is not the stated win condition. [1]

Steps

  1. Push toward destroying the opposing Core to win the match. [1]

Collect the Raptor pack’s permanent stat stacks

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

The familiar Fangtooth objective is a pack of three Raptor Fangteeth here. A pack spawns every three minutes. Each Raptor kill gives the killing team one permanent Trouble stack, worth a two percent increase to all stats for every ally, with no stack limit in this release breakdown. The reward is per Raptor, so a pack contains three separate stack opportunities. [1]

Steps

  1. Defeat Raptors to add permanent Trouble stacks for your whole team. [1]

Plan around the ten-minute Shaper objective

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

Crucible removes Orb Prime as a separate monster and adds its buff effect to Shaper when Shaper is killed. Shaper’s listed spawn time is ten minutes. Gold Buff and Cyan Buff are also removed from this mode, so the normal map’s objective checklist does not transfer unchanged. [1]

Do not spend a rotation searching for a Gold or Cyan Buff that the mode explicitly removes. [1]

Use geysers and bounce pads to rotate

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

Geysers provide air control during a rotation. Bounce pads in the center provide vertical access toward the Shaper Pit; walk over a pad to launch upward. These tools are part of the Crucible layout, useful when moving from the lane into its central objective area. [1]

Steps

  1. Walk across a bounce pad when you want its upward launch. [1]

Trigger the healing zone and understand bushes

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

Walk over a health pack to begin its short channel, then remain inside the zone to receive the heal. The release description heals heroes who stay in the zone after the channel; touching the pack and immediately leaving is not the full procedure. [1]

Entering a bush hides you from enemies unless they also occupy it or have a Ward inside. A bush therefore has explicit visibility exceptions; do not treat it as unconditional concealment. [1]

Steps

  1. Trigger a health pack and stay within its zone through the channel. [1]
