Planet Coaster 2: How to Build an Arcade With Tickets and Prizes

Find the Entertainment tab, choose arcade machines or a blueprint, add a Prize Counter and distinguish direct prizes from ticket rewards.

Find the arcade content in Entertainment

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

Update 9 places the Arcade content in the browser’s Entertainment tab. Start there when adding this type of guest entertainment, rather than searching only through coaster or flat-ride categories. [1]

Steps

  1. Open the browser and select Entertainment to access the arcade content. [1]

Choose individual machines or an arcade blueprint

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

The update includes 14 arcade machines and a Prize Counter. You can design a layout around those pieces. [1]

Large and Small Arcade blueprints are also included in the classic Planet Coaster theme. Use a blueprint when you want that ready-made layout, or choose individual machines when arranging your own arcade. [1]

Steps

  1. Select a Large or Small Arcade blueprint if you want the provided layout, or place the arcade machines for your own design. [1]

Support both direct prizes and ticket exchange

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

Guests can receive a prize directly from a machine or win tickets to exchange at the Prize Counter. The counter has a distinct role in the ticket route; a machine giving a direct prize does not imply all arcade rewards require ticket exchange. [1]

Steps

  1. Include a Prize Counter when you want guests to exchange arcade tickets for prizes. [1]

Choose the ticket and prize rewards

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

Park Managers control how many tickets and prizes guests can win. Tune those rewards for the arcade you are building rather than treating a single external suggested payout as a required value. The release note confirms the control but does not prescribe an optimal number or guaranteed profit rate. [1]

Steps

  1. Set the intended ticket and prize reward amounts for the arcade. [1]

Use colour customization where the machine supports it

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

Arcade machines support colour customization except the Atari machines. Keep that exception in mind when matching a park theme: a fixed Atari appearance is not evidence that the colour controls for every machine are broken. [1]

The included Atari machines are Pong, Asteroids and Centipede. Choose among those classics or the other included arcade games according to the layout you want. [1]
