Create a character in Forbidden Rites

GGG’s FAQ identifies Forbidden Rites as a fresh league economy with new challenges and exclusive rewards. It begins September 4 and runs until the 1.0 full release, ending alongside Runes of Aldur. Joining requires a new character in this league rather than moving an existing Standard character into it. [1]

Steps

  1. At character selection, select Forbidden Rites. [1]
  2. Create a new character in that selected league. [1]

Decide whether you need to leave your current league

Runes of Aldur remains available until the full release for unfinished challenges. The FAQ also says Trial of Chaos changes and the other improvements affect the whole game, including existing Runes of Aldur and Standard characters. Choose Forbidden Rites for its fresh league; you do not need a new league character merely to see those general improvements. [1]
