Nine Sols: How to Get Shennong to Leave the Four Seasons Pavilion

Check the poison and Yellow Dragon requirements, finish the drinks and linked Shuanshuan quests, and understand how to return for unfinished side quests.

Give the required poisons and finish Yellow Dragon

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

For the Yellow Dragon quest trigger, Red Candle requires at least six poisons, excluding the initial poison supplied during the poisoning event. Count that first event poison separately when checking your progress. Shennong’s departure checklist requires completing the Yellow Dragon task, so reaching the poison threshold alone does not satisfy the completed-task requirement. Departure requires the task to be completed. [1] [2]

Steps

  1. Provide at least six poisons beyond the initial poisoning-event poison to trigger Yellow Dragon. [1]

Finish eight drinks and all Pavilion dialogue

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

The departure checklist calls for drinking with Shennong eight times and finishing all of his dialogue in the Four Seasons Pavilion. Check the completed interactions, rather than treating a full-looking collection of poison items as proof that every conversation and drink is finished. This matters because the official list names the drinking and dialogue conditions separately from the Yellow Dragon task. [2]

Steps

  1. Drink with Shennong eight times and finish all of his Four Seasons Pavilion dialogue. [2]

Finish both linked Shuanshuan artifact side quests

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

Shennong’s departure also depends on Shuanshuan’s Solarian Artifact quests. Complete Fusang Amulet and Unknown Seed; the latter includes two GM Fertilizer. These are completion requirements for the linked side quests, rather than a claim that merely having an unused fertilizer in the inventory is enough. Check both named quests when Shennong remains in the Pavilion after the drinks and Yellow Dragon are done. [2]

Use the pre-ending return point for unfinished side quests

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

The no-return point is entering Eigong’s Vital Sanctum at the bottom of Tianhuo Research Institute. Before entering, you can still go back for side quests. If you have already entered and triggered the storyline, the developer says to finish the ending first. After the cutscenes, the original file keeps equipment, jade and side-quest progress while resetting game progress to just before entering the Sanctum, allowing another attempt at the unfinished side quests. [3]

Distinguish leaving the Pavilion from finishing the ending requirements

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

For the true ending, Shennong’s side quest must reach the point where he becomes leader of Peach Blossom Village. Departure from the Pavilion is therefore a checkpoint in that quest, rather than the full stated ending condition. The true-ending checklist also requires sufficient completion of Shuanshuan’s side quests and giving the Rhizomatic Bomb to Kuafu. If your goal is that ending, check those separate requirements as well as the Pavilion departure list. [4]
