New World: Aeternum: How to Capture and Apply Transmog Appearances

Use a Stylemancer, capture an eligible appearance with a token and apply a compatible account-wide skin.

PC

Choose the gear slot at a settlement Stylemancer

Steps

  1. Interact with the Stylemancer in any settlement and select a gear piece to view Transmog options. The next screen is a thumbnail grid for that slot. [1]

Capture the appearance with one Transmog Token

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

Capturing an eligible weapon, tool or armor appearance costs one Transmog Token. The menu displays the available token amount. Tokens are shared across the account, so spending one on a character reduces that shared balance. Already available store or entitlement skins do not require token conversion. [1]

Steps

  1. Confirm the capture, then find the resulting skin in Change Skin. It stays available account-wide even if the original gear is no longer owned. [1]

Apply a compatible appearance and handle dye separately

Match the weapon type or apparel slot when applying the appearance. Light, medium and heavy armor appearances can be exchanged visually. Consumable dye can change a Transmog skin’s color; removing that skin returns the underlying helmet to its original color in the FAQ’s example. [1]
