Equip Switch·Radiance and carry a matching weapon

Steps

1. The October 8 Congeneric system requires the Switch·Radiance Souljade. The equipped weapon’s Congeneric Weapon must also be in the Bag. Prepare both parts before attempting the number-key input; carrying two weapons alone no longer establishes that the skill is available. [1]

Use the weapon-slot key after an attack or while charging

Steps

1. With the required Souljade equipped and the Congeneric Weapon in the Bag, press the number key for that weapon’s slot after an attack or during a charge. The update explicitly supports charging activation for Dual Blades, Dual Halberds, Spear, Staff, Greatsword and Polesword. [1]

Use the documented block and Recovery behavior

Dual Blades, Dual Halberds, Spear and Staff Congeneric Skills can block an opponent’s Common or Charged Attack; a successful block permits a powerful follow-up. The update also makes successful Congeneric blocks apply Recovery to the player, and says Congeneric Charged Attacks upgrade to Gold Focus after a period of time. [1]
