My Time at Portia: How to Switch NPC Attire and Enable Random Daily Outfits

Use the NPC Attire Package’s Social-menu options, wait for the next morning and enable daily outfit selection from both the default and new attire.

Use the NPC pack for its eight supported characters

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

The NPC Attire Package enables Attires for Arlo, Emily, Phillis, Ginger, Dr. Xu, Gust, Sam and Mint. These are the eight characters named in the Steam release announcement. Use the NPC package for their clothing rather than expecting the separate Player Attire Package to unlock NPC outfit controls. [1]

Tick the new attire in the Social menu

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

Open the menu’s Social setting and tick the new outfit for the supported NPC. The announcement places the selection in Social; the clothes are not described as an inventory item that must be handed to the character as a gift. [1]

Steps

  1. Open Social in the menu and tick the supported NPC’s new outfit. [1]

Check the character after waking the next day

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

The change takes effect the next day when you wake up. Selecting an outfit does not mean the character immediately changes clothes in front of you. Check after the next morning before treating the selection as unsuccessful. [1]

Steps

  1. Check the NPC’s attire after waking the next day. [1]

Select both outfits for daily randomisation

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

Tick both the default and new outfit if you want random daily clothing. This is the announced randomisation setting, while choosing the new outfit is the direct-selection procedure above. Daily randomisation may choose the default outfit as well; seeing it again is consistent with including it in the selection. [1]

Steps

  1. Tick both the default and new outfit to enable random daily selection. [1]

Collect player clothing through its separate delivery

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

The separate Player Attire Package delivers its eight player costumes to the mailbox outside the workshop. That mailbox instruction belongs to player clothing; the NPC package’s outfit control is the Social-menu Attires function. [1]
