Use the official PC mod menu and required account link
Hogwarts Legacy’s official mod installation workflow begins with Play Mods in the main menu. A Steam or Epic Games Store account must be linked to a Warner Bros. Games Account to access these mods. The following steps describe that in-game workflow on PC; the keyboard and controller prompts are inputs used with that PC mod interface. [1]
Steps
- Link your Steam or Epic Games Store account to the Warner Bros. Games Account, then enter Play Mods. [1]
Find a mod, install it and wait for confirmation
Mods can be installed from Discover, Browse or the Mod Details page. In Discover or Browse, hover over a mod and use Install; the documented keyboard shortcut is U. The PC controller equivalents are X on an Xbox controller and Square on a PlayStation controller. Selecting the mod first opens its details page, where Install is also available. [1]

- Install the selected mod and wait for the notification at the top right showing that installation has finished. [1]
Create a Mod Save or choose an existing one
Official mods apply to Mod Saves. Navigate to Enable Mods and, if you do not already have one, select an ordinary character and use Copy Save. Confirm creates a Mod Save copy equivalent to the unmodded save. Alternatively, use New Character to begin a new character for mods. Copying and enabling are separate stages from downloading a mod. - Select an existing character, choose Copy Save and confirm, or select New Character. If a suitable Mod Save already exists, select that instead. [1]
Enable the mod for the intended save and inspect its order
Select the Mod Save before enabling a mod. The support instructions show the load-order number at the right of each enabled mod and ask you to take note of it. They do not provide a universal order for every community-created combination, so a visible order number alone is not proof that unrelated mods are compatible. [1]

- Hover over the installed mod and choose Enable for the selected Mod Save. Note the displayed order when enabling more than one mod. [1]
Apply the changes or apply and load the Mod Save
Choose Apply Changes to reach the confirmation prompt. Confirming Apply Changes saves the configuration; Apply & Continue saves it and launches the Mod Save. Cancel backs out instead. If the mod has been downloaded but you have not completed these enable-and-apply stages, repeat the workflow for the intended Mod Save. [1]
