Purchase 30 Wellkeeper items to unlock the Vault
The Vault is unlocked by purchasing 30 items from the Wellkeeper. Use the purchase count when checking the requirement; the release note does not describe simply carrying 30 items during a run as equivalent. Entry costs coins, and the amount you pay determines added modifiers. Prepare the entry payment after meeting the Wellkeeper requirement, rather than expecting the final stage to appear merely because another map was cleared. [1]
Steps
- Purchase 30 items from the Wellkeeper, then pay coins to enter the unlocked Vault. [1]
Choose the entry payment with modifiers and shards in mind
Paying more adds more Vault modifiers. The developer describes them as positive, negative or ambiguous, so a larger payment is not presented as a pure benefit. Every fourth modifier adds a Torment Shard to the final drop. Weigh that reward against the extra rules you are accepting. The note specifies the four-modifier increment without establishing a universal best coin payment or a guaranteed clear at a chosen price. [1]
Activate the lord instead of waiting for an automatic 30-minute finish
The Vault lord does not automatically spawn after 30 minutes: you must activate him. The run continues while the lord remains alive, and monster strength keeps increasing after the 30-minute mark. Plan around defeating that encounter rather than treating the timer alone as victory. Beating the Vault unlocks postgame features, including recoverable uncommon items and the ability to find more artifacts. [1]
Steps
- Activate and defeat the Vault lord; surviving to 30 minutes alone does not finish this stage. [1]
Rescue the Scriptor and use refundable shard upgrades
The Scriptor must be rescued from Frozen Depths, for which the announcement advises bringing fire. He lists recoverable equipment and permanently improves characters with Torment Shards. Those upgrades are fully refundable, allowing you to reconsider shard allocation rather than treating the first spending choice as irreversible. The guide’s progression is therefore: unlock the Vault, earn shards and use the rescued Scriptor’s character-improvement service. [1]
Use the later bulk-upgrade controls for large allocations
The March 2026 update adds bulk actions for shard upgrades and refunds. Hold Shift for steps of 10, Alt for 100, or Shift plus Alt for 1000. The announcement also identifies the left and right gamepad triggers as bulk-action controls, without specifying a separate numerical mapping for each trigger. Use these controls when an allocation has grown beyond convenient individual clicks. [2]
