Check the agent’s view of the market first
The PC/Mac FM24 transfer workflow offers Ask Agent About Market Interest in a player profile’s Transfer menu. It starts a conversation with the player’s existing agent before you choose another route to a sale. [1]
Choose Desperate, Keen or Curious according to the message you intend to give. The developer describes them as different tones, ranging from urgency to selling only for the right price. [1]
Steps
- Open Transfer on the player’s profile and choose Ask Agent About Market Interest. [1]
Use the intermediary option when the agent route is inadequate
An intermediary is another route when the player’s agent will not cooperate or existing offers do not meet expectations. [1]
Return to the same player’s Transfer menu and use Hire an Intermediary to sell player. The feature uses brokers recruited by your Director of Football or the relevant staff member. [1]
The staff member connects you with intermediary options; this is distinct from directly accepting a transfer bid. [1]
Steps
- Choose Hire an Intermediary to sell player from the player profile’s Transfer dropdown. [1]
Compare reach, ability, commission and completion time
Reach concerns the geographical market the intermediary can access. [1]
Ability helps determine the interest and sale value they can find. [1]
Commission is capped at 10% of the final fee. Compare the actual proposals rather than assuming every intermediary charges that maximum. [1]
Timing also matters: higher-ability intermediaries find offers faster at higher cost. During the busiest transfer periods, lower-ability options may be unable to finish in time. [1]
Account for the shorter available time on transfer deadline day when comparing the proposals. [1]
Select the proposal and review the resulting bids
When the hire request produces interest, the staff quick chat shows the available intermediaries, their proposed service and cost. [1]
Choose the proposal that fits your sale plan and ask for specific offers. [1]
After the associated period, review the bids. You may accept, negotiate or reject them; hiring the broker does not commit you automatically to the first bid. [1]
Steps
Understand the risks and no-interest outcome
If the agent refused because the player did not want to leave, bypassing them can make that player unhappy and disrupt the dressing room. [1]
The intermediary can also fail to find any interest. The game explains that result and permits another attempt later, so this workflow is a sales tool with an explicit failure outcome, rather than a guaranteed transfer. [1]
Rejecting or cancelling a sourced move makes that intermediary and club unlikely to offer again for a short period. Consider that consequence before dismissing a bid you may want to revisit. [1]
