Choose a plan for the intended goal
A Skill Plan is an ordered list of skill levels with a goal. CCP’s Skills Menu separates Skill Plans from the Skill Catalogue and active queue. Certified plans come from EVE Academy, while Personal plans are plans you created or copied. A plan can be assembled before buying or injecting its books, so merely saving it does not start training. [1]
Steps
- Open Skill Plans in the Skills Menu. Select a Certified or Personal plan, or copy a shared plan into your Personal collection before editing it. [1]
Read the milestones and the skill list
A plan can contain up to five milestones. They state its main objectives and travel with the plan when it is shared. Use those milestones and the listed skills to check whether the plan suits the ship or activity you actually want. Tracking a plan records progress; adding its contents to the active queue is a separate control. [1]
Steps
- Review the plan’s skills and milestones, then use Add skills from plan to training queue when you are ready to train its contents. [1]
Resolve missing books before the dependent training
When applying a plan, a red book icon identifies a missing skill book. Clicking it opens the book list. The Buy Missing Skillbooks option offers buying and injecting missing books; Check on Market opens a regional multi-buy search so you can compare prices. The plan’s existence does not supply the books automatically. [1]
Steps
- For an individual book already in your possession, right-click it and choose Inject Skill, or drag it into the training queue. [2]
Check prerequisites and clone state
Open Requirements in the relevant information window if a skill is still unavailable. Injected skills can still lack prerequisite levels. A blue book indicates a skill not yet injected, while a small blue dot means injected but below the required trained level. Yellow skill levels indicate an Omega requirement; a trained yellow level can be unavailable while the account is Alpha. [3]
Steps
- Inspect the prerequisite tree and the skill-level indicators. Complete the missing prerequisites before expecting the dependent skill to train. [3]
Confirm actual training and allow real time
Skill training runs in real time even while you are logged out. CCP documents a queue of up to 150 skills. Training speed depends on the skill’s primary and secondary attributes and clone state, so two characters do not necessarily finish the same plan at the same time. Keep the active queue separate from a saved list of future goals. [2]
Limits & applicability
- To train another character on the same account under the ordinary training flow, pause the currently training character before activating the other character’s training. [1]
