Choose Purified Memories for a single-boss rematch

Use a restpoint and open Memories, then select Purified Memories to challenge a purified boss. This is the direct option when your task is repeating an individual fight. The mode is distinct from Maligned Memories, which runs all bosses one after another. Choose the individual rematch when you want to concentrate on one encounter rather than complete the full sequence. Both options are accessible through the same Memories menu at restpoints. 1. At any restpoint, open Memories and select Purified Memories for a purified boss. [1]

Purify every boss to unlock the full sequence

Maligned Memories unlocks after you purify all bosses. Once that condition is met, select Memories and then Maligned Memories at any restpoint. The release note describes a succession of all bosses, so use it for the complete gauntlet rather than expecting the individual-boss selector. The game saves the time taken to clear this mode, giving you a recorded completion time to compare on later attempts. Use the current chapter to understand difficulty and rewards

Both replay modes set their difficulty from the current game’s chapter. Clearing either mode awards enhancing materials, and the materials obtained depend on that difficulty. If your objective is gathering those materials, compare the individual battle with the full sequence in the chapter you are actually playing. The announcement establishes that each clear provides materials, but gives no fixed amount or per-minute farming rate; it does not support promising identical rewards in every chapter. Account for New Game+ before comparing replay difficulty

New Game+ keeps Lily’s status, actions, skills, relics and tips, while some event-related items do not transfer. Its enemies are stronger than chapter 9, with strengthened enemy and boss behavior. Because replay modes take difficulty from the current chapter, keep the campaign context attached when comparing fights across saves. New Game+ is a separate way to replay the adventure with a stronger world, rather than an extra requirement listed for opening Purified Memories. Replay difficulty follows the current chapter. [1]
