Dune: Awakening: How to Prepare for Character Transfer

Know what the transfer carries

The character-transfer instructions introduced in live patch 1.2.40.0 carry your character, inventory, bank contents including Solari, and backed-up bases and vehicles to a new Sietch and World. A base that has not been backed up is left behind. Treat the backup as a required preparation step before initiating the move. [1]

Prepare your property before leaving

Steps

1. Back up your base with the Base Reconstruction Tool. The release instructions say the tool can hold up to three bases. [1]
2. Back up vehicles with the Vehicle Backup Tool. Larger vehicles that do not fit, and additional vehicles over its limit, can be disassembled and their parts stored. Use the Welding Torch for the larger vehicles described in the instructions. [1]
3. Check cargo containers separately: the game counts one as a vehicle, so the Base Reconstruction Tool does not back it up. Put other valuables in your character inventory or bank. [1]

Enter Hagga Basin and initiate the transfer

Your character must be in Hagga Basin to begin. Open the Server Browser or in-game System Menu to start the transfer and follow the displayed instructions. The published system requires a transfer token; its launch instructions provide one that replenishes seven days after use, so check your available token before committing your preparations. [1]
