Escort the machine rather than only surviving

Escort Duty centres on protecting and maintaining B0b-33, the Drilldozer, as it moves toward the Ommoran Heartstone. Unlike an Elimination mission, staying alive without advancing the machine does not complete the central task. Plan movement around the mobile objective rather than treating it as background scenery. Clear the route to the initial drop zone

The opening stage prepares a route for the Drilldozer’s delivery. The developer describes clearing a path to the drop zone and using explosive charges to open the way down; the machine is delivered after that preparation. [1]

2. Arm the explosive charges that open the route for B0b-33, then advance with the machine after its delivery. [1]

Mine Oil Shale when the Drilldozer needs fuel

B0b-33 needs repeated Oil Shale refuelling. A stopped Drilldozer can therefore be the mission’s normal fuel condition rather than a movement bug. Mining more Oil Shale is the documented way to address a dry machine; waiting beside it without fuel will not substitute for refuelling. [1]

1. Mine more Oil Shale when B0b-33 runs dry, while continuing to protect the objective from the swarm. [1]

Stay close and control the pace

The Drilldozer moves only when the player stays close. If it has fuel but stops while you range far away, check your proximity before assuming the escort has failed. Positioning affects progress as well as your own escape route. [1]

Delaying also increases swarm difficulty. Take the time needed to mine and maintain the objective, but recognise that an extended pause has a cost; the developer does not describe it as a free break from enemy pressure. [1]

1. Use B0b-33’s positioning as cover or to run down enemies while you defend it. Keep the task of maintaining the machine in view when fighting around it. [1]

Destroy Beamers at the final drilling stage

The final stage drills into the Ommoran Heartstone. Its outer shell is too strong for a pickaxe, so the Drilldozer is essential. Your pickaxe has a different job during this encounter: removing defensive obstacles that stop the drilling. [1]

1. Hack down the laser-firing Beamers with the pickaxe so the Drilldozer can continue its progress. [1]

Unlock the next Escort Duty sector

Escort Duty and Elimination have separate five-sector roadmap tracks. Progress on one mission type should therefore be checked on its own roadmap instead of assuming the other track’s gate is already open. [1]

Complete enough mission goals to open the sector gate, then beat that special dive to open the next sector. Later sectors increase the hazard and add modifiers, so completing one escort does not mean every later sector is unlocked. [1]
