Inspect blueprint progress and the actual recipe
Open the inventory’s Blueprints tab to inspect progression. Deadside’s 1.9 system uses blueprint fragments to unlock crafting recipes, turning the blueprint collection into the prerequisite for making equipment at the base. [1]
The later 1.11 update adds recipe display for all items in this menu. Check it while planning a collection trip so the materials list comes from the item’s actual recipe, without needing to stand at a workbench. [2]
Steps
- Open the Blueprints tab in your inventory to inspect the desired recipe’s progress. [1]
Obtain fragments or research the corresponding item
Fragments come from sources ranging from car trunks to airdrops, with rare fragments associated with high-tier events. The alternative is the research table, which converts an item into its corresponding blueprint. Choose between collecting fragments and researching an item based on what you already have; the announcement does not give a guaranteed fragment drop rate. [1]
Steps
- Use the research table when you want to convert an owned item into its corresponding blueprint. [1]
Raise eligible blueprint levels for equipment upgrades
Weapon and armor blueprints can be advanced through higher levels. Each new level unlocks an upgrade applied at the upgrade station. That progression is distinct from merely owning a basic recipe: the blueprint level determines which equipment upgrade has been unlocked. [1]
Steps
- Apply the newly unlocked equipment upgrade at the upgrade station. [1]
Use the CNC Machine for high-tier crafting
The CNC Machine is the high-tier crafting workbench introduced with this system. Both the required blueprint and the required materials are necessary. Having the machine alone does not satisfy the documented crafting prerequisites. [1]
The machine expands crafting to equipment that previously depended on purchases or finds, making blueprint collection and material collection parts of the same production task. [1]
Check the current upgrade cost before committing
The 1.11 balance list reduces equipment upgrade costs by half. Use the in-game recipe display for the current material requirement instead of following a materials total copied from a pre-1.11 plan. The changelog gives a percentage change, not an item-by-item replacement recipe. [2]
