Open the dedicated Assist Mode controls
Use the game’s Assist Mode controls when the goal is to practise a biome with fewer run resets. The official accessibility changelog introduces Assist Mode in Options and later adds it to the Main Menu as well. It also records a separate Accessibility section in the reorganized Options menu. Start with the Assist Mode entry rather than assuming that every accessibility preference changes combat difficulty. [1]
The Main Menu entry is explicitly documented. [1]
The broader options organization is a separate change. [1]
Steps
- Open Assist Mode from the Main Menu or its Options entry. [1]
Choose Continue mode for another attempt at the biome
Continue mode lets you resurrect after dying rather than losing the run immediately. The changelog describes returning to the beginning of the biome and later adds a changeable number of lives. Choose the life count offered by your installed version according to how many retries you want for practice. These notes do not list the current numeric choices, so this guide does not invent a required count. [1]
The number of lives is adjustable. [1]
Steps
- Enable Continue mode and select the number of lives you want to use for the attempt. [1]
Change the setting that matches what is ending the attempt
Assist Mode has separate percentage controls for trap damage, enemy damage and enemy health. Use trap damage for a hazard-heavy section, enemy damage when hits are ending the attempt too quickly, or enemy health when you want shorter fights. Those are applications of three distinct controls, not a single global easy preset. Compare the behavior after a change before adjusting the other sliders. [1]
Steps
- Adjust the relevant trap-damage, enemy-damage or enemy-health percentage for the part you are practising. [1]
Use the timing controls when reaction demands are the obstacle
The same Assist Mode feature list provides controls for the parry window and trap speed. Use the offered timing assistance when practising responses to attacks or moving hazards. A separate set of Gameplay Options adds Hold to Jump, Hold to Roll and a shield toggle instead of a long press. These change input demands and can be useful alongside the combat-assistance settings. [1]
The hold and toggle controls are individually listed. [1]
Steps
- Choose the parry-window or trap-speed assistance that fits the sequence you are learning. [1]
Reveal the map when route learning is the goal
For route practice, Assist Mode also offers an instant whole-map reveal. Use that option when the task is understanding the level layout rather than discovering it by trial and error. The guide’s scope is configuring these documented practice controls; it makes no claim about achievement eligibility or a particular Boss Cell unlock, which require their own rules. [1]
Steps
- Enable the whole-map reveal option if you want to study the route while practising. [1]
