BattleBit Remastered: How to Manage Deployed C4, Mines and Claymores

Apply the published placement and persistence limits, avoid underwater mine placement and understand explosion ownership when shooting an explosive.

PC

Keep the C4 placement limit in mind

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

The published 1.8.1 rules allow a maximum of six placed C4 charges and destroy them when the player dies. Treat this as the deployed-charge budget described in those rules, rather than a promise that a charge remains after death. [1]

Placing a seventh removes the first charge. If retaining the earlier placement matters to the plan, keep the total within the limit. [1]

Steps

  1. Keep no more than six C4 charges deployed when you want to retain all earlier charges. [1]

Plan mines and claymores around their persistence

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

Mines and claymores follow different death-persistence rules: the announcement says they survive the player’s death, with four allowed at a time. Account for existing placements when choosing the next location. [1]

A fifth claymore or mine removes the first one, so a fresh placement can replace an older defended location. [1]

Steps

  1. Keep the four-placement limit in mind when adding mines or claymores. [1]

Choose a placement above water

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

The later 2.0.0 rules disallow underwater placement for mines and claymores. Choose a supported location above water for those gadgets. This restriction names mines and claymores; it does not establish an identical restriction for every other gadget in the game. [2]

Steps

  1. Place mines and claymores in supported locations above water. [2]

Understand what shooting an explosive does

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

Shooting a mine, C4 or claymore transfers explosion ownership to the shooter under update 2.0.0’s rules. The original placer does not retain ownership in that interaction. [2]

Destroying an enemy explosive also produces a hitmarker and additional XP. These are the published interaction and reward rules, rather than a guarantee that firing near an unseen explosive will destroy it. [2]

Account for the later C4 surface change

Platforms: PCUpdated Evidence checked

The later 2.2.1 notes reduce C4 stickiness on non-vehicle surfaces while preserving stickiness on vehicles. Use this later surface behavior alongside the earlier placement budget when planning C4 use. The note does not provide an exact stickiness value. [3]
