The Dark World in Deltarune Chapter 5 is packed with secrets, but none are quite as challenging as the new secret boss: Pink. Found at the top of the Flower Castle, this encounter requires preparation, specific items, and a unique approach to combat. Here is how to track her down and secure your victory.
How to Get the Mystery Key
Before you can challenge Pink, you need to unlock the Pink Door inside the castle. To do this, you must acquire the Mystery Key. You can purchase this item from the shop located in the Cliffs. If you have already unlocked the fast-travel magic door, you can jump straight there.
To afford the key, you will need 10 Pink Coins. While there are 19 of these coins hidden across the Dark World, you only need 10 to make the purchase. Once you have them, head to the Pink Door and use the key to gain entry.
Summoning the Secret Boss
Once you step through the Pink Door, you will encounter Orange. As the conversation unfolds, Pink will make an appearance to defend her sibling. While the encounter initially seems like it might be resolved peacefully, a stray comment from Susie will escalate the situation and trigger the official secret boss fight. Note that Orange does not participate in the actual battle.
Strategy: How to Defeat Pink
You cannot defeat Pink through traditional attacks. Instead, you must fill the Doki Meter located on the right side of your screen. Follow these steps to win:
- Flirt to Fill the Meter: Use the 'Act' command for Kris and Susie to 'Flirt.' Ralsei can be used to increase your max TP capacity, allowing you to use advanced moves like 'MegaFlirt' for a greater impact on the meter.
- Collect Pink Hearts: During her attacks—which include box puzzles, explosions, and cat-emoji trains—look for pink hearts. Moving your soul into these hearts will grant you additional TP, which is vital for using your best moves.
- Survive the Dating Phases: As the Doki Meter fills, you will enter 'dating' segments. You must answer her questions affirmatively. Be aware that as the fight progresses, Pink will split into her ghost and body forms, which prefer opposite responses, making your choices more difficult.
- Handle the Final Rounds: In the third round, you will need 20 Doki to progress. The puzzles become more complex and you must avoid 'Die' words that reset your progress. The final round sees the Doki Meter fill on its own; simply survive the incoming attacks until it hits 20 to conclude the fight.
By correctly answering her questions in the final phase and acknowledging her need to balance her two forms, you will successfully end the fight. Pink will thank you for your help, rewarding you with a Shadow Crystal and a special item.
