Season Meltdown is officially live, marking the arrival of AZ3, the first new extraction map for Arena Breakout: Infinite since the release of Tide Prison. Designed as a modern ruin, the map centers on a nuclear power plant currently suffering from a catastrophic containment failure.
- Map Name: AZ3

Navigating the Nuclear Crisis
The design of AZ3 focuses on the intersection of industrial decay and advanced technology. Rather than serving as a static backdrop, the facility is a "stressed system" where the environment itself reacts to the state of the match. According to the Delta Force Operations Team, the map is built around the concept of a nuclear meltdown as a series of extraction decisions. Players must weigh the risks of entering the reactor building—where the loot is most valuable—against the dangers of the facility's unstable environment.
Radiation serves as the primary environmental pressure, but the developers have avoided a simple punishment timer. Instead, radiation levels build in stages, impacting movement and vision, and can be managed through equipment or specific cleanup rooms. The Geiger counter acts as both a warning and a tool for discovery, as players can follow signals to locate high-value loot.
Interactive Looting and Environmental Cues
Looting in AZ3 moves away from static container lists. High-value areas are now tied to the environment, requiring players to track keys, follow routes, or interpret auditory cues. The map also provides feedback on whether a location has been previously explored; interactions can leave behind traces such as smoke, sparks, or local system failures. These signals are intended to inform squad movement, forcing players to decide if a route is still viable or if it has been compromised by others.
The H1000 Threat
Combat within the facility is heightened by the presence of H1000, the plant’s security chief. Unlike standard boss encounters that trigger upon entering a specific room, H1000 is a mobile threat capable of flanking, using smoke, and closing distance with tranquilizer darts. The encounter is designed to reward tactical awareness, with specific roles for medic-focused operators to counter his unique tools.
End-of-Run Consequences
The developers have introduced a variable ending to matches in AZ3. As the reactor situation develops throughout the session, the map may open up late-run opportunities determined by the collective actions of all squads in the lobby. The goal is to ensure that the conclusion of a run feels like a consequence of player decisions rather than a scripted event. For those still learning the ropes, an Easy mode is available, allowing players to familiarize themselves with the map's complex systems without the full intensity of the standard experience.
